Obituary for Marta Avelina Famadas (Camino)

CALVERTON, MARYLAND – Marta Avelina Famadas, of Calverton Maryland, Miami Florida, and Camaguey Cuba passed away with her family by her side on October 24, 2018.
She was born in Jatibonico, Camaguey, Cuba, daughter of the late Jesus Camino and Consuelo Gonzales. Marta and her family immigrated to the United States for political reasons in August 1968 where She and her late husband, Angel M. Famadas started a new life. They settled in Silver Spring, Maryland with their three children. While in Cuba Marta was a home maker, in the US, she worked for the former Suburban Trust Bank, now Bank of America, until she retired after twenty years of service. After retirement, Marta and her husband moved to Florida where they established a business and continued to work. Marta moved back to Maryland after her husband passed away to be near her daughters and family. Marta had a generous and caring nature. She always put her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren first, giving them all she could. Marta was strong in her faith in God and attended St. Camillus Catholic Church in Silver Spring, MD. Marta loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them.
Marta’s memory is forever cherished by her children, Marta E. Altamar, Isabel Dash, and Angel J. Famadas, her son-in-laws Alberto E. Altamar and Gopendra N. Dash and daughter-in-law Sandra V. Famadas, her siblings, Laidee Monteagudo, Berta Ricardo, Raul Camino, Jesus Monteagudo and Beatriz Camino, her grandchildren Hilda E. Mitchell, Amanda J. Famadas and Krisztina P. Dash, her great grandchildren Angelina and Alex Mitchell, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Jesus Camino and Consuelo Gonzales, her husband Angel M. Famadas, her brother Nestor Camino, siblings-in-law Julio C. Ricardo and Violeta Camino, and by her grandson Gregory N. Dash.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 27 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 12319 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland. A second memorial service will be held at Noon, Tuesday, October 30 at La Paz Funeral Home, 3500 NW 7th Street, Miami, Florida. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Miami, Florida.
